Details

This is a wonderful pair of antique single-arm sconces, made of cast iron with their original polychrome finish. Signed by their maker, Moe-Bridges, the sconces date from the 1920’s. The backplate of each sconce begins with a red and blue polychrome torch. Below, the sconce arm extends from a convex oval with a beaded border. The sconce arm is buttoned to the backplate with a four-petal floret, and features a splendid double-layer petal bobeche with lovely polychrome accents. The bottom of the sconce finishes in polychrome foliate detail. These wall lamps are in excellent condition with a beautifully aged finish; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. We kept the original nonfunctioning turn switches for nostalgia’s sake; however, we will gladly replace them with new ones if desired. The sconces are 10 ½” tall, 4 ¾” wide, and project 6 ½” from the wall.
