This is a fantastic antique Federal five-light figural chandelier, dating from the 1920’s, in silver plate and brass. The chandelier begins with a canopy ornamented with a leaf-and-dart pattern and rope detail, and comes down in a chain to a splendid, silver plated eagle with outspread wings. Underneath the eagle are three shields, with a swag encircling the chandelier body below. Five U-shaped arms, each supporting bobeches encircled with grooves, extend from the bottom of the chandelier. The chandelier finishes in a spike with an orb. This light fixture is in excellent condition with a beautifully aged finish; the chandelier has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The width of the chandelier is 17”, the length of the chandelier body only is 18”, and the overall length is 32 ¾”.
