A delightful complete working thumb-latch set for an exterior door in Russwin’s “Avon” pattern, dating from the 1930’s. This door hardware set consists of a large exterior handle with a thumb latch, an interior knob and rosette, thumb turn, lock cylinder escutcheon and key, mortise lock, and striker; the handle features a distinctive design on the top and bottom. The simplicity of this set lends it to work with a variety of styles; it is in excellent antique condition. The larger handle measures 9-3/4” tall, 2-5/8” wide with a 2″ projection and the interior knob is 1-3/4″ in diameter with a 1-5/8″ projection; the mortise faceplate measures 7-3/8″ tall by 1″ wide and the body is 5-1/4″ tall by 3-1/4″ deep with a 2-1/2″ backset.
