Description

A very usual antique nickel-over-brass door plate and door knob, made by Russell & Erwin in 1894. The large backplate features a highly decorative motif of scrolling volutes and foliates, accompanied by an unusually shaped door knob with a coordinating design. This door knob and plate are in very good condition with an outstanding patina. The plate measures 3-1/2” wide and 15-7/8” tall, and the doorknob is 2-5/8” wide and approx. 2-1/4” deep. The set includes one door plate and one knob, enough hardware for one side of a door.
