Description
A very unusual antique Eastlake exterior mortise lock by J.B. Schroder, c. 1885, with its matching cast bronze strike plate, featuring a diagonal geometric design. This hardware design is classified as F-127 “Schroeder” in Leonard Blumin’s Victorian Decorative Art classification book. This entry door lock has a faceplate 8” by 1-3/8”, a 3-1/4” backset, and the lock body measures 4-7/8” tall and 4” deep. The coordinating strikeplate is 7-7/8” long.
