We can clean, darken, and lacquer any of the antique hardware that you purchase from our site. Superior to having a piece re-plated, our method of refinishing retains many of the lovely variations in finish and texture that distinguish antique hardware from its reproduction counterparts. There will be variations in color as shown, and different items may vary from dark brown to black, depending on the metal and its condition. Modern hardware in an oil-rubbed bronze finish usually coordinates very well with our refinished items. The refinishing price listed is per item – for a complete door hardware set, for instance, you’ll have two knobs, two plates, and a lock, so you’ll need to set the refinishing quantity in your order to 5 (each doorknob will count as one item). As this process is hand-done in our workshop, please allow 1-3 business days for cleaning (larger orders may take up to a week). Please note that, for online orders, this service is currently limited to items purchased from our website.
