A wonderful antique pocket door set made by Reading Hardware, and featured in their 1910 catalog. The set was salvaged from a home in Atlanta, GA, and retains its original japanned or copper-flashed finish over bronze. It is composed of two beautifully cast plates, a mortise lock, and the original key. Large volutes ornament the top and bottom of the plates. Each sliding door plate measures 2-3/4″ wide and 9″ tall. The lock box’s faceplate measures 1-1/8” wide and 7-3/4” tall, its body measures 3” wide, 5-1/4” tall, and has a 2-1/4” backset.
