A lovely cast brass “New Old Stock” traditional doctor’s door knocker. The door knocker features an amazing aged brass finish, and is in excellent antique condition. Legend has it that this style of a door knocker was used in England to identify the door where the town’s doctor lived so a person who needed medical attention could easily determine where to go for help. The door knocker measures 1-1/4” wide, 7-5/8” tall, and projects 2-1/2”; the strike measures 2″ in diameter and projects 1-1/4″.
