Description
This is a handsome antique cast iron Tudor five-light chandelier, dating from the 1920’s. The chandelier begins with a hammered canopy, coming down in a chain to a loop finial. Below the finial, the chandelier body is supported by twisted rods hanging from five cast iron loops. The ring-shaped, cast iron chandelier body features a hammered texture and an underside decorated with abstract designs. Extending from the chandelier body are five arms, with a spear-like shape on either end, which support deep hammered bobeches. On the underside of the chandelier, shields converge to a hammered center with a twisted spike finial. This light fixture is in excellent condition. It has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body measures 18 ½” wide and 16 ½” tall, and the fixture is 32 ½” long overall.
