Description
This is a splendid antique five-light iron chandelier with a shield design, dating from the 1920’s. The chandelier begins with a finial ornamented with a small crest, with iron bands coming down to form the chandelier body. The bands extend outward, supported by intricate brackets with a fleur-de-lis design, to form the chandelier arms. Each supports a simple bobeche with a twisted finial below. Intricate shield appliqués, flanked by fleurs-de-lis, are fastened between the arms. The chandelier finishes in a twisted spike. This light fixture is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body measures 19 ½” wide and 20” tall, and the fixture is 37 ½” long overall.
