Description
These gorgeous solid bronze antique gates are not hollow at any point, which is incredibly uncommon and a testament to the superior quality craftsmanship of this piece. These gates are Gothic Revival with an Art Nouveau influence, and were salvaged from Chicago. The base of these gates is comprised of hand-riveted bronze, which displays decorative quatrefoils. Branching up towards the sky are fourteen solid brass, bending and curling rods, which make refuge for the enhancement rods in between that bow and twist as if alive. The solid bronze of these gates has, over the course of time, developed an amazing natural verdigris patina that simply cannot be duplicated. These gates are in very good antique condition; they display no cracks or breaks. They do show minimal unintentional bending in parts, which can easily be restored. This gate is 78” H at the highest point, 60” H at the center where they meet, and 58 ¼” W. *These are quite heavy.*
