Description
This is an extraordinary antique chestnut door from Philadelphia, circa 1900, with figural American stained glass with jewels. The glass features a very unusual jewel in the center, depicting a woman in 19th Century garb, surrounded by a beaded border and glue-chip glass. Above and below are two opalescent, rounded jewels, each with a fan of glass extending from it. The corners of the window feature very subtle, light green glass. A ripple glass border frames the entire piece. Below the glass, the door features a horizontal panel with a pair of vertical panels beneath. The door is in very good antique condition, and the glass is in very good antique condition with one hairline (pictured) that is barely noticeable. The door measures 33 5/8” wide, 79” tall, and 1 3/8” thick.
