This is a wonderful antique iron and brass Neoclassical five-light chandelier, dating from the 1920’s. The chandelier begins with a brass loop finial formed of volutes wrapped in acanthus, below which five iron bands come down from a cluster of leaves to form the chandelier body. Five intricate flowers on long stems spring from the center of the chandelier, and the floret motif is repeated in five buttons which fasten the iron bands to the base of the chandelier. Each of the five arms supports a wide bobeche with a foliate border and torsade detail, finished on the underside with a baluster finial. The bottom of the chandelier features a trumpet-shaped finial with acanthus detail. This light fixture is in excellent condition. It has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body measures 15 ½” wide and 18 ½” tall, and the fixture is 35” long overall.
