Description

This is a magnificent antique standing lion doorknob, made by Sargent in the early 1900’s. This large figural door knob is made of cast bronze and features a splendid rearing lion surrounded by an intricately cast laurel wreath. On the other side is a cast bronze handle and rosette; these were with the knob when we found it and appear to have been used with it. This door knob set is in excellent condition, and both the knob and the handle have a lovely patina. The lion doorknob measures 2 ½” in diameter and 1 7/8” deep; the handle is 1 ¾” x 1 3/16”; and the rosette is 1 7/8” in diameter. The rod length is adjustable to fit a variety of doors.
