Description

This is a marvelous antique Moe-Bridges five-light wrought iron chandelier in its original polychrome finish, circa 1920’s. It is listed in a 1920’s Moe-Bridges catalog (pictured), in which the reader is advised that the “finest dinners will be will be enhanced by the presence of a Fixture so resplendent as this one.” Crowning the chandelier body is a volute finial, surrounded by a cluster of stylized leaves. Five C-shaped iron bands, fastened just below the cluster with florets, form the chandelier body, coming together at the bottom of the chandelier. A twisting iron pole extends down the center of the chandelier, ending in a foliate cluster. The arms, extending from the iron bands, support double-layer foliate bobeches. The chandelier finishes in a rounded foliate finial. This light fixture is in excellent condition. It has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body measures 18” wide and 20 ½” tall, and the fixture is 38 ½” long overall.
