Description

This is a beautiful antique boxed newel post, circa 1905. Made of oak, the newel post features a round cap accented with a triple groove pattern. Each side of the newel features chamfered edges and three floral designs. The first flower, closest to the top of the newel post, is bordered by a simple rectangular frame with abstract designs crossing each corner. The second and third designs depict a stylized passionflower. This fabulous box newel post is in good antique condition, with a few minor chips and slight separation of one piece of trim (pictured). The newel is 55 ½” tall and 7 ¾” wide.
