Description
This is a splendid antique seven-tiered silvered bronze chandelier with its amazing original amber and amethyst colored prisms, dating from the 19th Century. This five-light “wedding cake” chandelier begins with a gadrooned, beaded canopy and comes down in a chain to a gadrooned bowl hung with clear round beads, amethyst prisms, and amber teardrops. Below, the chandelier comes down in a cascade of graduated crystal prisms to a silver ring accented with amazing amethyst florets, each with an amethyst spike extending from the center to support an amethyst teardrop. The chandelier continues in seven tiers of sparkling “icicle” prisms, and is finished in a large, faceted amber glass ball. Because this light fixture retains all its original prisms, a few prisms may have minor chips. This light fixture and its prisms are in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body is 42” long and 21” wide; the fixture is 61” long overall.
