This is a wonderful antique Neoclassical five-light chandelier, with its original, beautifully worn silver plate finish over pewter and brass. Circa 1910, the chandelier begins with an intricately cast volute loop on a gadrooned base, which rests atop the urn-shaped chandelier body. The chandelier body is ornamented with a bead-and-reel pattern, followed by a scalloped, fluted section that finishes in foliate detail and a beautifully cast tassel finial. The S-curved chandelier arms, fastened with intricate acanthus leaves, attach to the chandelier body just above the bead-and-reel pattern, support understated wax-pans and candle-cups. This light fixture is in excellent condition with a lovely patina; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body measures 20” wide and 15 ½” tall, and the fixture is 35” long overall.
