This is a wonderful antique Neoclassical five-light silver plated chandelier, c. 1910, with brass accents. It retains its original, beautifully worn silver plate over brass. The chandelier begins with a silver plated canopy that finishes in a striking brass loop finial, from which the chain extends to support the chandelier. The chandelier body is crowned with a volute loop finial accented with foliate detail, and comes down into an open brass bowl, ornamented with a beautifully cast foliate pattern. The five arms of the chandelier come down in a J shape, supporting understated wax pans and candle cups. A long, twisted glass icicle prism dangles from the center of the chandelier. This light fixture is in excellent condition. It has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier measures 18 ½” wide, 17” tall (body only), and 35” long overall.
