Description

This is a stunning antique six-light Georgian chandelier, c. 1910, with crystal prisms. The chandelier retains its original, beautifully aged silver plate over brass. It begins with a canopy hung with crystal, coming down in a chain to an understated volute loop. The loop attaches to the baluster-shaped chandelier body, which is encircled by a small platform accented with a leaf-and-dart pattern. Six small urn-shaped finials, each ornamented with a garland design, rest atop the platform. Below, the six smooth chandelier arms, alternating with prisms, extend from the underside of the platform, each supporting a shallow leaf-and-dart bobeche with a magnificent dangling crystal. The chandelier body is adorned with three floret designs, each featuring an aster encircled with bellflowers and a web-like border. This light fixture is in excellent condition with a lovely patina; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body measures 20 ¼” wide and 20 ½” tall, and the overall length of the chandelier is 32 ½”.
