This is a wonderful pair of antique Ionic columns, circa 1910, featuring heart pine trunks and a fleur de lis design. The capitals, which originally formed part of a colonnade, are adorned on each side with a fleur de lis with an egg-and-dart pattern beneath, followed by a bead-and-reel pattern. The design is flanked by the prominent volutes characteristic of the Ionic order. These columns are in excellent condition with just some minor scratches to the finish (pictured). Each capital measures 7 ½” wide, the diameter at the top of each column is 4 7/8”, and each column is 64” tall. Please note that the camera flash distorted the color of the capitals in two of the pictures; they are not an accurate color representation and are included only to show detail.
