Description

A spectacular complete working thumb-latch set for an exterior door, made and signed by Welch, dating from the 1930’s. This door hardware set consists of a large exterior handle with a thumb latch, a smaller coordinating interior handle, thumb turn, striker plate, lock cylinder escutcheon, and mortise lock. The cast brass handles feature a distinctive Art Deco design at the top and bottom, with a matching decorative escutcheon for the lock cylinder. This hardware set is in very good antique condition. The larger handle measures 11-3/8” tall, 2-1/2” wide with a 2″ projection, and the smaller handle is 7-3/4″ tall by 1-3/4″ wid. The mortise faceplate measures 7-1/8″ tall by 1″ wide and the body is 5-1/2″ tall by 3-3/8″ wide with a 2-1/2″ backset and has a coordinating strike plate.
