This is a wonderful pair of sconces dating from the 1920’s. They are marked “M.E.P” on the back, which is the signature for Markel Electric Products of Buffalo, NY. The sconces begin with a foliated and curled top finial. The back plate shows a seeded texture, which is surrounded by florets and leafing, and features a large, full flower, eye-catching centerpiece. Growing outwards from the back plate, the sconce arm supports a beaded and ribbed bobeche. These wall lamps are in excellent condition. They have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. We kept the original nonfunctioning antique turn switches for nostalgia’s sake; however, we would gladly replace them with new ones if so desired. The sconces are 9 ½” long, 4 ½” wide, and protrude 4 ½” from the wall. Very similar pairs of sconces are available under item # NSP151-RW, # NSP152-RW, # NSP153-RW, and # NSP285-RW.
