This is a superb pair of antique Georgian double-arm cast bronze sconces, dating from the 1920’s. Each sconce features a sleek round backplate with a torsade border, and the back plates are crowned with finely cast leaves intertwined in a heart-shaped design. The bottom of the backplate is finished in a knotted tassel flanked by foliate detail. Two arms extend from the bottom of the backplate, each coming up to split into addorsed scrolls below a foliate wax pan and a ruffled candle cup. These wall lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The sconces are 10 ¼” tall, 8 ½” wide, and project 4 ½” from the wall.
