Description
This is a magnificent pair of cast bronze sconces, made by the renowned maker E. F. Caldwell, circa 1910. They have a beautiful patina and are done in the Neoclassical style. The sconces have urn-shaped back plates with smooth centers and gadrooned detailing around. Flanking the back plates are modest, C-curved arms that spring up to accept unassuming, groove-detailed wax-pans and candle-cups. These wall lamps retain their original cardboard backing and are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The sconces are 15 3/4” tall, 9 1/2” wide, and protrude 4 1/4” from the wall.
