Description
This is a handsome antique cast iron Arts and Crafts five-light chandelier, circa 1920. The chandelier begins with a hammered canopy, connected by a chain to the chandelier body. The chandelier body is crowned with a loop finial, below which the chandelier body is supported by five twisted iron rods. The ring-shaped, cast iron chandelier body features a hammered texture and an underside decorated with abstract foliate designs. Extending from the chandelier body are five arms supporting hammered bobeches with twisted finials. On the underside of the chandelier, stylized shields converge to the center, which is finished in a twisted finial. This light fixture is in excellent condition. It has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body measures 19 ¼” wide and 16” tall, and the fixture is 31” long overall.
