Description

This is a splendid antique Russell & Erwin cast bronze door knob set, dating from the 1890’s. Each knob features an incredibly detailed design, beginning in the center with a four-pointed star design in the center, surrounded by a zigzag border. An intricate eight-pointed design encircles the center, extending to the edge of the knob. The knobs are signed “Russell & Erwin Mfg. Co. New Britain, Ct. U.S.A. Pat. Apr. 12.” The lettering is worn but still legible, except for the year of the patent. These door knobs are in excellent condition with a lovely patina, and each knob measures 2 ¼” in diameter and 2” deep.
