Description
This is a wonderful antique five-light chandelier, dating from the 1920’s, with its original vibrant polychrome finish with red accents. It begins with a loop finial formed of two volutes with foliate detail, coming down into a cage-like body formed of five bands. Each band is embellished with a three-dimensional leaf, below which is a four-petal red floret. The center of the chandelier is formed by a twisting vertical bar with gorgeous polychrome accents, adorned at the top and bottom with clusters of red leaves. The chandelier arms branch out near the base of the chandelier, curving slightly down and back up to accept fabulous bobeches, each formed of four leaves with red tips. The magnificent bottom of the chandelier finishes in a large foliate cluster, from which dangles an intricately detailed teardrop finial. This light fixture is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body measures 18 ¼” wide and 24” tall, and the fixture is 39 ¾” long overall. A matching three-light chandelier is available under item # NC574-RW.
