This is a wonderful set of four antique Neoclassical double-arm sconces, circa 1910, made of silver plate over brass. Crowned with foliate and volute detail and flanked by exquisite bellflower garlands, the back plate features a long, smooth shield on a textured background. The back plate extends straight downward, curving out near the bottom into a rounded shape, where it is adorned with a gorgeous urn ornamented with acanthus. The S-shaped, fluted arms extend out from the center of the urn, supporting wonderful, gadrooned wax pans and matching candle cups. These wall lamps are in excellent condition with a beautifully aged finish; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. We kept the original nonfunctioning turn switches for nostalgia’s sake; however, we will gladly replace them with new ones if desired. The sconces measure 10 ¾” wide, 9 ½” tall, and extend 6” from the wall.
