Description

This is a fabulous antique English Tudor five-light cast iron chandelier with a shield design. Dating from the 1920’s, the chandelier still retains its original polychrome finish with red and blue accents. The chandelier body is formed of five curled iron bands which flare out at the base to form the chandelier arms. A blue shield design, adorned with a red band down the center, connects the bands that form the chandelier body. The shield is surrounded by volute detail and features an intricately cast crown at the top. The five bobeches, each resting atop the curve of its arm, are ornamented with foliate detail and touches of red. This light fixture is in excellent condition. It has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier measures 17 ½” wide, 20 ½” tall (body only), and 37” long overall.
