Description
This striking hand riveted antique lantern with figural details, originally gas and dating circa 1880’s, was found in a home in New Orleans, LA. The pendant light begins with an understated canopy, descending in chain to meet a loop finial within a leafy base. Each side of the lantern body below is composed of a framework of gothic arches accented with scrolling foliates; interspersed between the arches are figural faces reminiscent of a mythological creature. This pendant light would be suitable for either interior or exterior use. The chandelier, originally gas, has been professionally rewired for electricity and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation.
