Description
This is an incredible antique Neoclassical four-light inverted dome chandelier with its fabulous original opaline shades, dating from the late 1800’s. It has an understated brass canopy, which comes down in three chains to a remarkable inverted dome opaline shade, which features a lovely foliate wreath and garland design. Three elegant, petite, hook-shaped arms extend from the top of the center shade, and support simple ridged brass shade holders. The bell-shaped shades are adorned with a wreath and garland detail that matches the center shade. This light fixture is in excellent condition, and the glass is also in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks, just the expected fleabites around the rim. The chandelier has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. It measures approximately 20” wide, 12” tall, and 37 ½” long overall.
