This is a beautiful pair of antique Neoclassical figural sconces with cameos, dating from the 1920’s. These double-arm sconces retain their original, beautifully aged silver plate over bronze. The center of the back plate features a sunburst with a floret button, and the back plate is bordered in volutes. The sconce arms and the base of the back plate are connected by a fabulous blue and white cameo, accented above and below by acanthus leaves. The sconce arms are ornamented with a delicate geometric pattern and end in their original beautiful red-purple prisms. Each arm supports a crown-like bobeche. The wall lamps are in excellent condition with a wonderful patina; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. We kept the original nonfunctioning turn switches for nostalgia’s sake; however, we will gladly replace them with new ones if desired. The sconces are 9 ½” wide, approx. 11” tall, and project 5 ½” from the wall.
