Description
This is a stunning antique Art Nouveau figural newel post lamp, dating from the early 1900’s, designed in the form of a woman holding a large flower. The lady leans on an oval wreath ornamented with intricately cast flowers and leaves. A large flower blooms at her feet. The lamp is in very good antique condition, with part of one finger missing (pictured), a crack in the back of the lady’s hair (perhaps a casting flaw, pictured), and possibly some missing leaves. These flaws are barely noticeable and do not detract from the beauty of the piece. The lamp originally held a mirror; the tabs for holding the mirror are still in place, and a mirror could easily be added. This newel post light measures 23 ¼”, 13” wide, and approx. 10” deep. The lamp has not been rewired; we would be glad to rewire it for you for a minimal charge.
