Graceful Solid Bronze Antique Gate, c. 1800s

Out of stock

This elegant solid bronze antique gate was salvaged from a home in Chicago; it was built in the 19th Century. This gate is constructed of ten solid bronze, circular rods each one finishing in a bottom ball finial except the two outer rods for affixing. The two, solid bronze, outer out rods reach up to a delicate end curl, while the remaining eight rods finish off with a leaf and berry top finial. The center of the gate is crossed with two bronze bands, which once meeting with the rods creates a square shape. The center of each of these squares holds a circle of bronze. This gate is in very good antique condition; it displays no cracks or breaks. It does show a bend at the base of one of the outer rods (see last image), which can easily be restored. This gate is 78” H at the highest point, 60” H at the center where they meet, and 58 ¼” W. *This is quite heavy.*
