Description
This is a splendid antique Gothic Revival cast bronze chandelier, circa 1905. This five-light chandelier begins with a beautiful canopy, ornamented with floral detail and accented with a trefoil loop finial. The chandelier body is formed of a magnificent orb, crowned with a trefoil loop finial similar to the one on the canopy. The orb, finished in an acorn finial at the bottom, connects to five rods, each of which supports a tall, cylindrical bobeche with stylized leaf detail. Each bobeche features an acorn finial below. Encircling the orb and chandelier arms is a magnificent, cast bronze band in the style of a crown. The crown is topped with a fleur-de-lis pattern and filled with a cut-out design of stylized, looping vines and flowers. The bottom is finished in a torsade pattern. This light fixture is in excellent condition. It has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier is 15 ¼” wide, approx. 12 ½” from the bottom finial to the top of the candles, and 29” long overall.
