Description
This is a wonderful pair of antique cast iron Gothic Revival double arm sconces, c. 1910. The faux-hammered back plate of each sconce comes up into a three-pronged point and features a border that twists on each side and comes up into a pair of spikes, fastened to the three-pronged point of the back plate with a band. A fleur-de-lis variation finishes the base of the sconce. The sconce arm extends across the front of the back plate, fastened with a floret button and accented with understated, stylized foliate detail; each end of the arm comes up in a twist pattern to support a hammered bobeche with a scalloped edge. These would be perfect for any Gothic Revival, English Tudor, Spanish Revival, or Old World home. The wall lamps are in excellent condition and have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. They measure 10” wide, 17” tall, and protrude 4” from the wall. A set of four very similar sconces is available under item # NSP307-RW.
