Description

This is a magnificent antique figural mantel with carved lion heads, made of mahogany and dating from the 1800’s. The mantel features a beveled top edge, followed by an intricately carved design of volute and foliate detail. A superb roaring lion’s head accents each side of the mantel, each resting atop a turned, spiral column. Each column finishes in a block ornamented with a carved flower. This mantel is in very good antique condition. It measures 71 ½” tall, 79 ½” wide, and 35 ½” deep, and has a firebox opening 55 ¼” wide and 59” tall.
