This is a magnificent antique hand riveted iron lantern, dating from the 1920’s. The four-light chandelier begins with a trefoil loop finial, with four curled iron bands coming down to support the lantern body. The top of the lantern is formed by a wide iron band featuring a wavy edge and cutout designs. Attached to the band with riveted appliqués are decorative pieces with trefoil detail. Twisted iron bands run the length of the lantern, fastened with florets to the wide band that finishes the bottom of the lantern. This chandelier would be excellent for any Tudor, Spanish Revival, or Gothic Revival décor. The light fixture is in good antique condition with some small metal loss around the lower band (pictured), and the glass is in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks, just the expected fleabites around the edges. The lantern measures 39” tall and 19” wide, and the overall length of the chandelier is 56 ¼”.
