This wonderful antique five-light chandelier, signed by its maker, the Riddle Company, and dating from the 1920’s, retains its original, polychrome finish with red accents. It begins at the top with a wonderful ribbed canopy, featuring fabulous red foliate and volute detail, and comes down to a marvelous finial composed of vines with red acanthus leaves. The finial hooks to a round faux-hammered disk, which is bordered in polychrome foliate detail. Five bands curve out to accept intricate bobeches adorned with leaves and volutes, and come down to meet at the bottom of the chandelier, which finishes in a magnificent acanthus and volute appliqué. This light fixture is in excellent condition. It has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. It measures 22” wide, 15” tall, and 32” long overall.
