Description
This is a splendid antique five-light iron and brass chandelier. Dating from the 1920’s, the chandelier retains its original polychrome finish. The chandelier is crowned with a volute loop with red accents, attached to a brass pole that runs the length of the chandelier body. Five ribbed brass bands, adorned with red volute and floret detail, support the wide, decagonal iron band that holds the bobeches. Attached to five sides of the band are scalloped bobeches supported by intricately cast brass polychrome arms adorned with a spiral pattern and volutes. Between each arm is a brass appliqué with a stylized fleur-de-lis design and a crest in the center. The bottom of the chandelier is finished in a brass volute loop with crimson and cream accents. This light fixture is in excellent condition with a delightful patina. It has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body measures 19 ½” wide and 21 ½” tall, and the fixture is 40” long overall.
