Description
A magnificent antique five-tiered Neoclassical chandelier, dating from the 1920s, and found in a home in Nashville, TN. This brass “wedding cake” chandelier begins with a foliate-embellished canopy, coming down in a chain to an intricate loop finial with volute detail. Finely ornamented bands support the chandelier body, which is embellished with foliate swags, interspersed with flowing volutes and bellflowers that encircle dangling faceted teardrop prisms. Below, the chandelier continues in five tiers of sparkling icicle prisms, and is finished in a faceted crystal ball. This light fixture is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body is 16” wide and 32” long; the fixture is 44-1/4” long overall.
