A rare pair of antique “Arabic” pocket door locks by Mallory, Wheeler, & Co., dating from the 1880’s, signed M.W. Co. These cast bronze pocket door mortise locks feature Arabic letters on a distinctive rippled background. This pocket door mortise pair is in excellent antique condition with a beautiful patina, and the locks’ push-button system with pop-out handles is in good working condition. Each lock has a 1″ wide by 7-3/8″ tall faceplate; each lock body measures 3-3/8″ wide by 5-7/16″ tall with a 2-1/8″ backset.
