Description
This is a wonderful antique cast iron exterior sconce, circa 1905, with clear granite glass panels and a beautiful patina with traces of dark green paint. The cast, rectangular back plate is ornamented with foliate detail. The arm, which features a repetition of the leaf design from the back plate, curves downward from the center of the back plate and comes into a cube-like shape at the end, with a finial extending from the base of the cube and the lantern rising from the top. The hexagonal lantern features a diamond-shaped design coming down each glass panel, and has a hexagonal roof that comes up to a pointed finial. The wall lamp is in excellent condition. There are no cracks or breaks to the glass. The sconce has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The sconce measures approximately 14 1/2” tall, 7 ½” wide, and extends approximately 11” from the wall.
