This is an amazing set of eight matching antique Aesthetic Movement pocket door plates, cast bronze, dating from the 1880’s. The plates are intricately detailed with a lattice background. The recessed area of each plate echoes the shape of the keyhole; the keyhole is in the circular section, which is bordered by an egg-and-dart pattern. Each plate has the patent date on the back: “Pat’d Mar. 18. 1884 & Apl. 22.” They are in excellent condition, and measure 2 ¼” wide, 5 ¾” tall, and ½” deep. Four of the plates have keyholes; the other four were modified in the past for very small bronze knobs, and each has a small circular opening (see pictures). THE PRICE LISTED IS FOR EACH PAIR OF PLATES; THERE ARE IS NOW ONLY ONE PAIR AVAILABLE. A pair of matching door knob sets are available under item # NDKS1-RW.
