Description
This is a remarkable set of four matching Aesthetic Movement antique cast bronze pocket door plates from the 1880’s. Each plate features a bright design on a darker, ribbed background. Surrounding the keyhole in the center of each plate is a circular, scalloped design, crossed with five rays. A trio of stylized bellflowers extends down the opening, which mimics the shape of the keyhole. The circular part of the handle area is bordered by a diamond-shaped geometric design, accented by stylized flowers. The corners of each plate are adorned with quarter-circle florets, and a wonderful floral design finishes the bottom of the plate. These Eastlake plates are in excellent condition with some minor paint splatters. Each plate measures 6 ¼” tall, 2 ¾” wide, and ½” deep.
