Description
This is a stunning antique five-light chandelier with zipper-cut crystal spears, circa 1910, in its original, beautifully worn silver plate finish over brass. The chandelier begins with a splendid canopy ornamented with a leaf-and-dart pattern and a graceful design of vines and leaves. The chandelier body is crowned with a loop finial formed of two pairs of volutes, accented in the center with a roundel. The finial rests in a leaf-detailed section, below which the sleek, silver plated chandelier body flares out to a wide bowl with lattice and torsade detail and hung with five beautiful crystal prisms. Five slender, reeded arms extend from the underside of the bowl, each supporting a beautifully cast bobeche with dangling crystals. The center of the chandelier finishes in a large finial ornamented with leaf designs. This light fixture is in excellent condition with a lovely patina; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The width of the chandelier is 16 5/8”, the length of the chandelier body only is 19 ¾”, and the overall length is 34 ¾”.
