Description
This is a gorgeous antique Neoclassical five-light silver plated bronze chandelier with prisms. Dating from the early 1900’s, the chandelier features a loop finial ornamented with foliate detail, resting in a leaf-and-dart bowl. Five bands, ornamented with florets, curve down to support the chandelier body, which is adorned with magnificent, intricately cast plumes accented at the bottom by scrolling ribbons. The five arms, each formed of a pair of C-curved volutes, extend outward over the plumes, supporting dangling bobeches. Each bobeche has a flared leaf-and-dart border with dangling “icicle” prisms. The bottom of the chandelier is finished in a smooth crystal ball. This light fixture is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. It measures 16” wide, 19 ½” tall, and 33 ½” long overall.
