Description
This is a superb antique six-light semi-flush beaded Georgian chandelier, made of Dore bronze, dating from the 19th Century and retaining its original shades. The chandelier begins with a beautifully cast foliate canopy finished with an acorn finial. Three rods, each crowned with a curled acanthus cluster, extend outward to support the chandelier body. The chandelier body features a broad Dore bronze band ornamented with intertwined garlands. Three chandelier arms, fastened at the base with foliate appliqués and a bow, curve outward to support gadrooned shade holders with their fabulous original rose-shaped shades. Below, the chandelier comes down into a crisscrossed pattern of faceted beads and teardrops. The chandelier finishes in a ring of glittering icicle prisms. This flush mount light fixture is in very good antique condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier measures 25” long overall and 24” wide.
