Description
This is a wonderful antique three-light Gothic Revival chandelier, circa 1910, retaining its original, textured milk glass. The chandelier begins with an understated canopy with torsade detail, coming down in a chain to a trefoil loop finial. Six squared rods, featuring a diamond-shaped cutout and an abstract leaf design, curve up from the chandelier body, meeting below the finial. They support the hexagonal chandelier body, which is composed of six panels with Tudor arches, each filled with textured milk glass. A stylized foliate appliqué crowns the top of each edge where the panels join, and the base of each panel is accented with an appliqué with understated volute detail. The bottom of the chandelier is covered by a piece of milk glass, which is removable to facilitate changing the bulbs. This light fixture is in excellent condition, and the glass is also in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks, just the expected fleabites at the edges. It has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body measures 15” wide and 19 ½” tall, and the fixture is 41 ¾” long overall.
